ABOUT
Royal Scent Productions is a botanical fine fragrance house based in Charlotte, North Carolina. We make Extrait de Parfum from a small number of whole botanical extracts and organic ethanol. No synthetics. No fillers, additives, or enhancers. Nothing unnecessary.
Every ingredient is listed by its full INCI botanical name on every bottle, every box, and every product page. There is no line that says "Fragrance" or "Parfum." Most perfumes are built from dozens, sometimes hundreds, of individual compounds that are never disclosed to the person wearing them. Ours are not.
Royal Scent Productions comes from my initials—RSP—and the meaning behind my name. “Raj” (or “Raja”) translates to king or prince, which shaped the idea of a fragrance line that feels refined without being excessive.
It is less about luxury as an image, and more about holding a higher standard in how the product is made and presented.
The Origin Story
Before this was a company, it was just something I did before leaving my home.
I kept separate glass spray bottles of rose, vanilla, and ylang ylang. I would layer them onto my clothes in that order. Rose first, then vanilla, then ylang ylang. It was not a system I had planned out. I just liked the way it smelled. Other people liked it too. Coworkers mentioned it. Strangers in line at the store asked about it. People at the park. People at the gym. It kept happening. The question was always the same: what are you wearing?
I never had a real answer. It was three bottles of oil I kept in my cabinet.
At some point I poured all three into a single bottle with some alcohol and started wearing that instead. The compliments got more frequent. I started adjusting how much of each oil went in. Added jasmine. Added benzoin resin after reading that it works as a fixative, meaning it helps the other notes hold on longer. That turned out to be true.
I mixed five different versions, gave them to about two dozen people I trust, and asked them to rank the blends honestly. Everyone liked all five. In years of mixing things for myself, that had never happened.
So I took it further. Filed an LLC. Found the highest quality botanical suppliers I could. Taught myself to formulate by weight on a milligram scale instead of counting drops from a bottle. Read more IFRA safety regulations and FDA cosmetic compliance documents than I ever expected to.
Royal Scent Productions exists because people kept asking me for something I had not figured out how to give them yet.

Our Philosophy
We do not use "clean" as a marketing word. For us it is a constraint we build around.
Every formula comes from the same small set of whole botanical materials. Rose absolute from Bulgaria. Vanilla bourbon CO2 extract and Ylang ylang extra from organic farms. Jasmine absolute from India. Benzoin resinoid extracted with ethanol, not hexane. Vitamin E to prevent oxidation. Organic 200-proof corn ethanol as the carrier.
That is everything. No isolated aroma chemicals. No synthetic fixatives. No proprietary blends hiding behind a single word on the label. None of our ingredients are tested on animals.
This approach is limiting on purpose. We cannot engineer a scent to do something the raw materials will not do on their own. It takes more precision and more care with what each botanical actually brings. But it also means there is nothing in the bottle we cannot explain, name, and document.
All formulas are verified against IFRA 51st Amendment Category 4 safety limits. We do not estimate compliance from general industry data. We calculate it from the GC/MS constituent analysis of the specific lot in our lab, using batch-specific certificates from our supplier.
Ingredient Transparency
Most fragrance brands list "Parfum" on the label. That single word can represent anywhere from a handful to several hundred undisclosed compounds. There is no legal requirement to break it down further, so most companies do not.
We list every ingredient under its full INCI botanical name on every product page and every box. If it is in the bottle, it is on the label.
We publish our Safety Data Sheets and IFRA certificates through our Transparency Vault, available to anyone. If you want the batch-specific Certificate of Analysis for the exact lot of rose absolute in your bottle, request it through the Vault and we will send it directly.
We do this because you should not have to guess what is in the thing you spray on your skin every day.
